Double Plays Win Games

Inducing ground balls doesn't look glamorous, But It keeps down a pitch count against the way of the K.

Double plays are what win games, they kill a rally before it's even begun.

The Red Sox took 2 from 3 against the Rangers but Tuesday's defeat was because of the double play, I counted 4 in the first 5 innings.

Santana Leads mLB in Pitch Count per AB @ 5.05

The Sox top the list in GDP with 17
Whilst the Marlins stand at 0.

The MLB average is 6 as of 10th April.

Which means the Sox have almost triple the amount they should.

So whilst it may not count in your fantasy league, It's good for your ERA & WHIP to have those who induce ground balls & Double Plays.

Jeter Hit List

With Derek Jeter captaining his side for the last Bronx opening day, and after having overtaken Paul Molitor on the All Time Hits list, how many will he end up with?

Currently on 3320
Behind
7th Carl Yastrzemski 3419
6th Honus Wagner 3430
5th Tris Speaker 3515

Where will he end up.

Last year he ended up with only 12 Hits from 17 games played.
Injury could be a problem, but the Captain could end up over coming both Yaz & Wagner.

However I feel that as too much of an injury concern he will end the season with 100-105 Hits.
Which will see him around the 3420 mark but just miss out on Yaz's number.

Should he be able to play 140 games I think he'll get to 6th all time, however I can't see this 40 year old get more than 400 AB's.
